Great tip! By adjusting the bridge pickup down, away from the strings you get more jazzy sound on a solid-body guitar.

Appreciate the tips. I might point out that is not just any solid state guitar amp -It is a Polytone. It was a preferred amp by technical jazz wonder Joe Pass and others. Not your typical SS amp in tone. I did find setting the bass, contour (mid), treble and volume on my son's solid state  Marshall amp was a start for that '60 jazz tone.

I love the strat and I don’t know how I feel about arch-tops but they seem great . I just think I’ve grown to familiar with strats . So this video is very helpful for a jazz tone for some one with a Strat
