From prersonal experience from building quite a few L series both n/a & turbo silicone on the gaskets is asking for leaks. The only place you use some RTV is on the corners of main cap number 7 where the side seals main cap and block toutch, before the rear main seal, if anything on some places you can use some gasket sealant but ive only ever needed it on the valve cover when they warp either on the head or cover itself
