Exploring the old Edmonton Oilers Arena

It's hard to believe how much the Northlands Coliseum has changed since it first opened in 1974. This building truly was built for hockey. We were lucky enough to visit one last time, so take a look at how it stands today.

As I flames fan it's still hard to see an old iconic barn come to an end. Been there a few times too. Farewell!

Sad to see it go. Wish they coulda saved it/convert it somehow. I'll always remember going to concerts, Edmonton drillers games, Oilers of course, disney on ice, Wrestling and various other events. Such great memories. Thanks for the video :)

Had a season ticket for much of the '80's...saw them win the 1st Cup, dethroning the Islanders & Wayne's last one, our 4th. Many great concerts, too‼️

I’m blessed to have witnessed a few games played here. First game I went to I recall we won. I didn’t have a jersey on but the kid next to me did. We scored a goal and the camera man saw us and took video of us onto the scoreboard and I grabbed the Oilers jersey front part with one hand and pointed to it with my other hand all excited as we were broadcast. My grandpa got him and my bro and I tickets to the game but we all sat in separate seats as we couldn’t get 3 seats together. What an experience at my first game. I was maybe 10 or older. I’m sure my gramps helped me find my seat before he got his. I didn’t know the other child next to me then haha. Several years later I was at another one with friends, knowing we lost that game.

I miss this place more than anyone can imagine.. it was my home away from home..

For me a renovation of the Northlands Coliseum would have been enough, considering as a solid concrete structure made to last more decades. The Rogers Place is amazing, but leaving the house where we won everything it's, in my humble opinion, taking away part of the Oilers identity. Vamos Oilers toda la vida carajo!

I was sitting in the seat behind the net not the best seats and I saw Kurri Gretzky's night to tie Gordie Howe's 1850🇨🇦

It's feels oddly sad to see a building with so much history get pushed into history like this. As a Jets fan, I remember many, many disappointing evenings watching games being played there, but the history is undeniable.

There are so many memories at that arena. 5 Stanley Cups . 1984, 1985, 1987, 1988 & 1990 . HNIC is the best .
