Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola happy with Newcastle United win

A goal from Raheem Sterling was enough to give Manchester City a 1-0 win at Newcastle United on Wednesday and send them 15 points clear in the Premier League. Pep Guardiola’s side had 78 per cent possession and 21 shots to Newcastle’s six but still had one or two nervy moments to endure near the end of the match before their 18th successive league win was confirmed. Only another injury to their captain Vincent Kompany marred another successful night for City who now lead neighbours Manchester United by 15 points. Newcastle suffered their fifth successive home league defeat - their worst run since 1953.
