EMM Labs' State-of-the-Art Hi-Fi Pursuit - Ed Meitner's 50-Year Ascent (Jan. 2023)

Ed Meitner is one of the true legends of audio design. He began his career in the early 1970s with the design of the fabled Olive recording console—the world’s first fully automated recording console. Shortly after, he designed distortion analyzers for Amber and worked on numerous other audio-related projects, including assisting with the design of the original Oracle AC turntable. By the 1980s, he was fully involved in creating hi-fi for the home and became best known at that time for his Museatex electronics, which are still in demand today.

It was in 1998 that Meitner’s current flagship brand, EMM Labs, was established. Originally, EMM Labs was created to support Sony for its SACD project, but a few years later the company also began making products for the studio and the home. From EMM Labs, the lower-cost Meitner Audio brand was also born. This video briefly explores Ed Meitner’s history and his vision for his products, which are designed from the ground up and intended to advance the state of the art.
