What happens if you encrypt everything including OS and boot sector? Many unanswered questions. But thanks for telling us how to turn it on (sarcasm implied)...

I did read/write and it doesn't pop up for me after I made the DMG, whereas when I create another dmg with "read only", it works. why is that?

I just followed all of your steps and it worked but then it didn’t save the encrypted folder. I had left it on my desktop then I shut down the Mac entirely and rebooted and it was no longer on my desktop. It didn’t save. Weirdest thing ever. If you can be of any assistance here I would really appreciate it
