Along with Windows 11, Microsoft also released Microsoft Office 2021 on October 5th 2021. In this episode, Diana will be using Microsoft PowerPoint 2021 to create a presentation of her own insane fictional country. Will Ben want to move there after watching her presentation? So, I'm Ethan. I'm the one who made that game at the end of the video. Thanks Phil and Diana for playing that game. I might send you an email later with all the info that you guys wanted and I didn't release prior to the video. Just saying that development started August 2020 and full release was December 18 2020.
My icon is what I call "Terror Teddy". The local tattoo artist made this "One Time Only" present for my 12th birthday. I wasn't expecting it as well. It was either that, a blue abstract object or a Minecraft beef. I'm not even joking.
The game is also available on my GameJolt btw, not just the Mega link (i have to remember to keep that there)

Ah yes, nothing like a brand new OSFirstTimer episode while I enjoy my delicious dinner, comprising of the Double Decker Combo Burger from Chubby Buns Burger at Bankstown, along with some loaded fries with barbeque sauce and a can of Fanta! Hi, I've just seen the part where you go through all the different Office looks and I have to say, just to balance things out, that I just couldn't use it with the 2007 look, it looks like such a mess to me lol hahah. I get why Diana liked it when looking at the screenshot, but I think for actually working in it, the more neutral colours make more sense - it makes the UI non-intrusively stay in the background, and makes the actual slides be the center of attention. When everything on the screen has its saturated colour, gradient, etc., it makes for a heavy interface where it's hard to communicate to the user what's most important. After all, the UI is there to help you get other stuff done, not to be "the stuff" itself haha.

I used to like the flat design much more because it was so refreshing after years of super heavy UIs. Now that we've had this for a while, it makes sense to evolve again, and shadows, blur, animations are the new trend because they give the UI some physicality, making it reminiscent of how real objects behave. This is a very deep topic, but I felt like I needed to share another perspective since I've heard you talk about it over the years.

In eighth grade, we also had to make our own fictional country (it was a group project and we were grouped according to seat rows). It was a lot of fun.
