Exponential Model Word Problems

This video introduces the idea of solving exponential word problems which essentially model a real life scenario involving exponential growth or decay with an equation.

The general strategy for solving these word problems is to start by defining the variables used in the equations as well as noticing what units are used for each variable. Then, interpret which of the variables the question seeks to find and which of the variables are given. Plug the given variable into the equation and lastly solve for the missing variable.

These problems can be checked by plugging the answer that was found back into the equation and determining if it makes sense.
