I most likely heard at least half of these tracks first back in 1995 on a commune near Nimbin, and I don't know the names of the artists but I am really really huge fan of the tunes with the syncopated bassline/kick that sorta makes you spin for a while as it transitions between dominant accents. I used to think it was some kind of electro-goa thing... That party in that church-building looking place the DJ who played went by the name Dingo, and yes he was original australian, really nice guy and man, I danced my ass off that night. I had helped organise a different party but that one was a cop magnet and I met these two amazing people, Falcon and Sowelu, who whisked me away to this tribal psychedelic paradise.

One of the most important nights of my life. I'm sure that many of the people who were there are now still out there fighting the spiritual war against tyranny too.

Freedom is addictive. Once you taste it, nothing else is good enough.

I gotta say I love modern and old school psytrance / goa equally. Both have different characteristics that are enjoyable and it's fun to be able to pick from a wide range of styles.

The best trance is Goa trance. So many fun memories of crazy parties. The elaborate handmade fluorescent decorations and the crazy people made it totally unnecessary to take drugs and you would still feel spaced out. Mind you I did smoke some weed and at some parties I had a mushroom or two but often I was among the more sober people around. In fact the kind of people who were a bit too drugged out kinda ruined it for me. It was hard to connect with people who were so far gone. But still these parties were among the best raving experiences I ever had.

This summer I used to working netx to river in big city, party place, dancing on boat. I run the foodtruck. Once my friend, when we finding some music, rather fast and good for hard working, to hear, said " Let's listen to some Goa Trance!" 16h our of serving food to drunk people. All day this set. Best memories. Fastest service. People dancing staing in line.
