Export DCP in Adobe Premiere Pro for festival / contest / theater

If you are trying to enter your film into certain festivals or contest, you might have encountered rules about DCP delivery. DCP means Digital Cinema Package and there are certain requirement you should follow to make pass the regulations and also enable playing in theater without any issues.

DCP Aspect Ratios
Flat 1.85:1 = 1998x1080
Scope 2.39:1 = 2048x858

Make sure to use 24 Frames Per Second!

Resolutions are 2K because most theaters are still 2k and most festivals and contest don't request for larger resolutions like 4K, as also the 4k DCP can't be played on a 2K projector.

Of note, from online research, pretty much all US festivals and most festivals in Europe dp accept DCP's with a 25p frame rate.

IMPORTANT FOR MAC USERS. Most cinemas (festivals) need Linux or Windows formatted drives to play the DCP from. So, while you can export DCP from Premier Pro on PC and be fine. Mac users have to jump through another hoop: how to transfer to a windows drive.

In 2021 Wrapter DCP was removed from all Mac M1/M2 Silicon versions of Premiere.

i exported it but it is showing IN A FOLDER. what should i do? it is not previewing like a normal video and the audio is not exporting.

I did what you said but for my movie, when I export the DCP, it doesn't work, it says : "XML files are validating against their corresponding XML schema definition". Do you know what went wrong?

Hello Chungdha. Thank you very much for the tutorial. But just 2 questions : Once the sequence is created, what do I do with it ?... Should I just insert it on an additional track of the editing before exporting in DCP ? About the frame size : for a 16:9 movie, should I select "flat (1.85:1)”, and forget about the letterbox black side bars ? Thank you for your help.

Great video! A few questions: I've already exported a 1920x1080 film for a festival. Can I just put that video on a 1998x1080 sequence and export with the DCP settings you mentioned? Same question for a 21:9 film export as well. TIA!

I'm exporting the dcp file in 2.7 k directly on my external ssd (1TB SanDisk extremepro). Premiere pro tells me that the file is going to be about 200 gb but its only 5 gb at the end ... can you help me?

Would be GREAT if it actually worked like that. Just bought a new macbook pro and the Wraptor DCP option is GONE. None of the previous workarounds help. I tried downloading Premiere on an older computer, but.... no it won't download even an older version.... NOW WHAT???
