The 2021 NASCAR Schedule has been put on hiatus because of the pandemic. And as a result, a lot of the experiments and changes have at least some gage to them. Midweek races, doubleheaders, and NASCAR-IndyCar crossovers later, its time to evaluate what the new schedule could look like. Today on the Spotter's Guide, I'll take a look at potential new tracks, configuration changes, and predict what the final calendar will look like!

I'm proud of NASCAR for taking a bad situation in the virus and turning it into a testing ground for different ways of scheduling races, especially in the year before 2021 with the potential big schedule shakeup.

Elkhart Lake*

Or you could just call it Road America

RIP Maurice Petty: master engine builder. Today I don't think that they even open those motors.
Petty Enterprises needs to think driver change. Wallace is not focused and gets into squabbles every race now. He does not go to the front. I was a fan of him at first.

Gateway’s Truck Race was advertised on the radio today. They are having fans.

This schedule is perfect! The season ending a month early and having Vegas as the cut off race before the championship 4?! It’s going to be fun to watch! I really hope that NASCAR is watching this video and give this one a go! It’s perfect

I’ve never heard of Erkhart Lake, Wisconsin. Is that near Elkhart Lake?

As someone who lives in Indy, I can say with confidence that the attendance will be the same because people are on vacation and don’t care to sit in the hot for 4 hours when they can be in a pool.

Before we add any new tracks, NASCAR must right the wrongs of leaving North Wilkesboro and Rockingham.

I'm surprised Canadian Tire (Mosport) hasn't gotten more attention. It's another road course you can add to the schedule, it's bad fast, and brings the Cup series to Canada. It seems a no brainer to me once COVID travel restrictions are altered.

There is no way they can go from Phoenix back to Charlotte back to California in midweek

I can't see gateway getting a cup date, however the rest seems feasible

After all I’ve heard about Gateway getting a Cup Series Race next year, I would be surprised and kinda disappointed if it wasn’t on the Cup schedule next year

What I could see a several changes:
-Michigan's 2nd race being given to Gateway
-Chicagoland's race being sent to either Road America or if they can buy it, the Milwaukee Mile
-Indy GP and Brickyard 400 double header w/xfinity running at IRP or running @ Indy on one of Iowa's dates
-All Star Race and Coca Cola 600 remain stay where they were
-Kansas gets reduced to one race
-Sonoma gets added to the West Coast Swing
-Richmond's fall date becomes a spring date for Darlington
-Kentucky gets relegated to being Xfinity and Trucks only w/it's cup date going to Atlanta
-Kentucky's races take over for Iowa's other weekend
-Weekend races are no longer experimented with
