The deadline imposed by the West African regional bloc ECOWAS is set to expire within hours. Pressure is mounting on Niger's coup leaders to reinstate ousted President Muhammad Bazoum. ECOWAS military chiefs of staff have agreed on a plan for a possible military intervention to respond to the crisis. Former colonial power France also voiced support for the bloc's effort. Sanctions on the coup leaders have already been imposed, and electricity supplies from Nigeria have been cut. Millions of Nigeriens are now facing the prospect of war and hardship.

Applause to tinubu for knowing that Nigeria has a strong army. Please someone should tell that old man to use his troops to tackle boko haram in his homeland

You are going to ignore the fact that the Nigerian senate voted no to the war.

We Nigerians don't want war. We have enough problems to contend with. War advocates should take it elsewhere.

ECOWAS? Democracy? 😃😃😃. Give me break. Most of the ECOWAS leaders themselves aren't democratic - Togo, Benin, Ivory Coast. Now ECOWAS is talking about democracy. 😅😅😅

The Nigerian Senate has rejected military intervention.

No need of military intervention. Time for Africa to be smart enough!

The Nigerian parliament has voted no the war. And that is democracy. The French have a habit of choosing and picking what is democracy or not. Tye Frencha and the west must be consistent. The French supported the coup in Chad, how is this different?

We are not in support of military intervention, ECOWAS should apply diplomatic strategies instead of war! Nigerian has a lot problem to face... insecurity everywhere, inflation, poverty, unemployment etc

Unless there is violence against civilians there shouldn't be military intervention.

It seems u dont want ppl to know the Nigeria Senate voted against a military intervention. For NATO media, the important is to promote wars, not to inform.

Nigeria’s senate has shot down the intervention and I don’t know if Senegal or Togo, Ghana, Ivory Coast who will lead it . We wait to see .
