‘The Wonder’...totally wondrous!
I loved the story — the gradual building of trust between Lib & Anna: Lib’s grief, & her need to save ‘this’ daughter — not her own: Anna’s pitiful need to absolve the brother that she believes she has damned to hell: the Happy Ending, which we all hope for!
And ‘the Look’ — beauty conjured from a barren landscape, time-worn interiors, & the careworn, hungry faces! The scenes with the‘judges’ set up like an Old Master painting
— The Last Supper?(Ari Wegner, (The Power of the Dog) working her magic...)
The immersive soundtrack — eerie, just this side of horrific — & it never lets go...
Nothing but praise for the cast of this marvellous movie, which I look forward to watching again...& again
