Finally, a Picture of the Milky Way's Supermassive Black Hole

More than three years after the release of the first-ever image of a black hole, scientists from the Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) shared an image of Sagittarius A* (pronounced A-star) — the supermassive specimen sitting at the center of our own Milky Way galaxy. In this video, EHT's astronomers, astrophysicists and data scientists explain the science behind the big discovery.

I think the EHT people deserve a Nobel prize in physics for their discovery. I wonder how long that will take...

A shame Dr. Hawking wasn't alive to see these images.

Seeing scientists talk about their discoveries and theories is just so bizarre to me.

I admire them for their hard work 🤝

A bit misleading to call this a "picture", which many viewers will interpret as meaning it's a photographic image. This image is computer constructed from radio frequency EM radiation, not visible light. The orange and the black hole in the middle are interpreted colors, assigned by a computer algorithm not disclosed to us, thus we as viewers of this video have no information on what assumptions were made to assign the colors in this "picture". People are likely to assume that this "picture" is how the entity actually looks, which is simply not true. You cannot see the radio waves that are depicted in this image.

Just think when we will be able to set our telescopes up on various planets to see much further and in more distinct detail, those results will lever our knowledge for many different investigations and help shorten flight times throughout the universe, let alone just our Galaxy.

Amazing. How did this discovery completely bypass me? M87 hype lasted years. I thought it was impossible to image the Sag A* with any accuracy because of dust clouds. How did they manage this? 😮

Why are there three bumps in that image?

Yep, "it's always NOW" the ultimate Time-Tag for ONE-INFINITY Singularity and Sagittarius A.

Being has a tendency to 'return' to clusters
='the nature of solidarity' -a desire for empathy -(Wave)-(yin)
and also,
Being has a tendency to 'exist' as individuals
='the nature of self-expension' -a desire for breed-(Particle)-(Yang)

Likewise, humans have two elements.
We must realize that we all have both left and right elements
=Solidarity and Self reliance
No one has only one element.

so 'Sum' derived from 'two poles', (thesis, antithesis, synthesis)
To develop intellect and ethics by harmonizing the two,
It is good to realize it and balance it properly

But A few people polarized the crowd(political partisanship)
without balancing themselves.
And They stole only the sum, only the synthesis from the triangle composition.

Now We all have to get out of this deceptive situation.
This is not the time for us to hate each other.
We have to track down those who have been manipulating us.

The next step is to turn Jupiter into a telescope.

how do you come a conclusion that one is a black hole? I m a bit stupid. How do you define a black hole? How do I know picture is not something else?

Spiraling magnetic field, you say? Hmmm. What causes magnetic fields?

Many people wonder, how does it look, standing at the edge of our Universe? And what could exist beyond it?

Well for all intends and purposes, this image is from the edge of our Universe. Beyond that, our physics break down, and you step out of our known reality.

So the Universe doesn't have one edge, it has many. 4 dimensional hyperspheres called black holes. Even if our Universe is indeed infinite, it still ends right there and then, at the singularity of a black hole.
