Another great interview. Always appreciate the interviewer’s insightful questions and ability to adapt to the guest’s answers.

What kind of an actor tells a director that he'll only do one take of a scene? This director handled it very well, but that actor was out of line.

Thanks for the insight. I love the commentary on the actors, the great ones demand we all step our game up. Probably saw it coming a mile away, lol.

(11:10) This dude should join the diplomatic corps if he ever gets tired of directing. Damn!

I continually rewrite what boring things people say to make the subject more interesting. That said, business is business.

What's the difference between a great story and a mediocre story?

Stories that deal with one main character, should show his/her goals. It should be clear and specific. Then its all about the hurdles. How difficult they are, how high the stakes are... there in lies the difference a mediocre story, and a great story. I dont think it's about not about storytelling.

Another difference, lot of times a character has to make up his mind to do something to achieve his goal. If the problem is about not having physical strength, or mental courage, that's an avg story. If the character (and the audience) is not clear if this is right thing to do or not and is having an ethical dilemma... that is a great story.

I love movies so much I always tell the truth and ppl don't appreciate it. And I am brutally honest altho I am working on my delivery. But real artists who want to do good work and not just see their name in lights as if the 2 are not connected will after the ego bruise will take ur criticism into consideration.
