OSRS Splashing Guide 2025 - BEST AFK Magic XP [Newest Guide]

What is "Splashing?
Splashing is an occurrence, when you cast a spell, and upon impact with the target, it does not damage, and you see an animation that looks like water splashing on a surface. This allows you to AFK with auto retaliate on, and gain XP towards your magic level! Every 20 minutes, you have to click on the NPC to ensure you don't get logged out / stop attacking the NPC.

What do you need?
Runes / Staff to Auto Cast
Full Iron Armor Set (Including Iron Boots)
-64 or less Magic Attack Bonus
Find any "Low Level NPC" so you don't take damage.
Click Every 20 Minutes (So you don't stop attacking)
Do not use Lumbridge (You won't gain XP)
AFK and enjoy!

Where do I go?
Rimmington / House Teleport, then run east to Port Sarim docks! Attack the seagulls!

(The XP next to the spell is how much you will receive from splashing).

XP Rates Per Spell: (Generic)
Strike spell – 13.9k XP per hour
Bolt spell – 27.0k XP per hour
Blast spell – 41.3k XP per hour
Wave spell – 50.7k XP per hour

Make sure you calculate the cost of runes beforehand to ensure you are willing to lose that much money in runes.
