Thank you so much for this tip. It's been keeping me awake at night. YOU have been a lifesaver during both my knee replacements. Thank goodness we only have two knees!

It wasn’t just my incision that was sensitive after my TKR, my entire knee area was super sensitive and it sure did not want ANY weight on it at all. I am 1 yr post-op and that finally stopped after a few mos. My sleep issue after 6 wks po was that my knee ached so badly that I basically did not sleep until 11 1/2 wks po! My surgeon would NOT renew my pain prescription .... not even to help me sleep. Tony, I have shared all this with you all during my post 6/wks recovery....just sharing on this video to, hopefully, let others going through the same thing know that I have been there, too! In fact my, other knee is bone on bone and last year pre-op I didn’t care which knee my doc replaced first because I was in SO much constant pain with both and could basically not even be on my feet to prepare a meal with out EXCRUCIATING to hobble around & really needed assistance to stand & walk. FYI, I am now a young 72 yrs old. The point in saying all that is to say that my none replaced knee does not give me a lot of trouble since the new one got well! I cannot walk for exercise like I want but I am not in constant pain with it. I presume the new knee has taken the stress off of it👍🏻. I am able to do my housework, cook, work in my yard (not mowing, but other things), walk all over Costco and the grocery store back to back on the same day, prepare meals, etc. So, I have cancelled the surgery on it two times now due to COVID. I am doing so well that I have decided that I will not reschedule the other one as long as it is doing this well! I am a happy Tony, you cannot imagine how helpful and supportive you were to me during my 6th-12th weeks po recovery. I was desperately searching for help and stumbled upon you YouTube channel!!!! I will always be grateful!!!!

Yes!!! Exactly what I’ve been experiencing. Incision is soooo sensitive. I’m trying the massage, but I’ll try your other tricks too now. Thanks!

Ice! I use a gel bag that freezes and it has as Velcro wrap to keep it in place the ice numbs the sensitive area enough for me to fall asleep.

I'm 8 weeks post op and I'm having this issue. Anything touching or bending it back sets my scar on fire 🔥. I've tried rubbing my scar and pressing down with pressure. The left side of my new knee cap is still very numb but that scar hurts, that's how touchy it is.

I had to sleep on top of the Comfortable/Sheets for 8 months after the Full Knee Replacement...I did not put lotion on my incision until my 6 month mark...Also I slept on my Back for the 8 months and then I switched to sleeping on my side which is more comfortable to me...

I slept with my leg hanging out because I didn't want anything to touch that incision. Of course, my dog would give my toes a lick 😂 it's been 9 months now and I don't want anything I wear, like Jean material, touching that area; soft material ok. Thanks for all the great videis!😊

I use a long sock that comes all the way up to my thigh. I Am super sensitive and this helps from the sheets & blankets touching my skin.
