This Prelude is undoubtedly the most Cziffra-esque, so not terribly surprising it's the only one he recorded.

Cziffra is really fired up here - I think this is the only Chopin Prelude he recorded.

God, finding this just made me so happy. Hearing the little Cziffra-isms sprinkled into this really made my day. The elongated intro before catapulting into the piece, the way he somehow plays these 16th notes in a very spiccato/plucky manner, the growling bass when the main theme is re-introduced, the (imo) perfect explosion at 0:50 that highlights the peak of that descending scale while also being uniquely Cziffra, and finally the rapid & somewhat messy 16th’s leading to that titanic bass at the end is just so juicy. There is so much to chew on in everything Cziffra plays.

Without a doubt the best version. Almost as fast as Kissin but with far more colour and contrast. Kissin just sounds like an energizer bunny playing this - technically outstanding, but uninteresting.
