“Can you imagine how much deeper the oceans would be if they didn’t have all those sponges in them?”

As a former resident of New Jersey, I can say that the northern half could use a bath.

Look at the water line from pictures when it was built. Amazingly it’s at the same level.

This only includes ice above sea level. Ice decreases in volume as is melts into water.

Thanks for continuing to put out interesting videos that help us understand life.

Apparently Birmingham, UK (where I live) will be like an island. Pretty sad, though. I really worry about the world my daughter's going to live in during the course of her life, and her generation didn't cause this.

The volume of ice is bigger that the volume of the water, so whem the ice under the sea level melts, shouldn't the sea level actualy drop? (And the ice bergs are known for having big underwater parts and small tips)

Yeah, like every time i eat at a restaurant and the ice melts in my drink and floods the

Antarctica just measured the most ice in 100 yrs.

So what he’s saying is that the earths oceans will be going back to normal and we are in nothing but an ocean drought right now.

did anybody try to calculate the amount of water you need to raise the whole surface of all oceans on the planet and compare it to the amount of ice that has to melt?

We're gonna be in A LOT more trouble with rising sea temperatures before it floods major cities. It really doesn't take much to disrupt our food supply chain.

Wrong. Greenland ice is 7 meters equivalent sea level rise. Did he mean Antarctic ice?

How can New Jersey save themselves from all this bad reputation. For 50 years + all I hear is derision. How do we restore some dignity to that state? I am just a tourist I live outside the USA.

I wonder if Neil has a home by the ocean.

What is the math to come up with that level (up to the statue of liberty's elbow? I believe you, but curious about the calculation.

When? Rise as high as Liberty's elbow?

Not to be critical here aren't glaciers like 90% underwater already, so if they melt, only 10% of the mass enters the ocean

So why hasn't sea level risen at all.. in modern times, but now it's an issue
