Indonesia’s National Museum is welcoming back visitors – a year after a fire tore through the building, destroying many historic artefacts.
A new exhibition is showcasing repatriated items taken by the Netherlands during the colonial period.

As a staff member working in a museum in the Netherlands, I’m glad to see that these objects have returned to their rightful home. Thankfully the relationship between Indonesia & the Netherlands, is doing well nowadays. I do hope to see the objects that have been in Dutch museums, when I’ll be able to visit Indonesia. Much love from the Netherlands

If you visit the museum, you will find tons of Hindu statues such as Nandi (they have Nandi themed garden), Ganesha, Buddha Bhairava, etc.

By the way, Indonesians are welcome to visit the National Museum of the Philippines to explore the culture of the Philippines and the connection of Indonesia 😊😊

Since the successful visit to the National Museum in Manila, I wish to visit some museums in Indonesia to see the culture of Indonesia like arts 😊😊

See you in Indonesia next year and I will be waiting for you 😊😊

The thing i noticed is that- indonesians are much tolerant and accepted when talking about their hindu heritage compared to pakistanis and bangladeshis

if you want to learn about Indonesian medieval history, go to the Dutch museum where our manuscripts, relics and artifacts are there, ironically we have to go far to learn about our own history,

It just showed us that Indonesia was a nation of a very long history of past glorious civilization!
It was similar to the great Persian Empire (now Iran) before the Arab invasion.
