I've literally played thousands of games and without a doubt Hollow Knight is not only the best metroidvania game ever made, it is one of the best games ever made. Dozens of hours of mystery and discovery in a beautiful world, all for 15.00. A steal. The developers should have charged double the price

This video is missing The Mummy Demastered. Developed by Wayfoward, it's essentially Contra meets Symphony of the Night. Very underrated in part that it's based on 2017's box office bomb.

Came out after the video, but had to mention Dead Cells, and omg Iconoclasts. If you haven't played either one of these two in my humble opinion def on par or better than hollow night. much love.

Really nice to see you include Shantae and the Pirate's Curse. I think it's the best one in the series and I think it's the only Shantae game that feels like an actual metroidvania. It's actually crazy how in just 10 hours, some earlier challenges become incredibly easy breezes because of new abilities only.

Hollow Knight is great. I'm 55 hours in and at 108%, but I'm still not done. Maybe the biggest steal of a game I've ever purchased.

Rive Ultimate edition definitely deserves an honorable mention. Two tribes was a two man team and it was their swan song before leaving the gaming business for good. They put a hell of an effort into that game.

I picked up Hollow Knight recently and it is easily one of the best games I've ever played. I've never really paid attention to Metroidvanias, but I want to explore the genre more.

I have 45hrs in my first hollow knight playthrough and i didnt 100% it. Incredible game and i couldnt suggest it enough. This is coming from someone who isnt really much into platformers and honestly for $15 i feel like i robbed the developers.

My dad loves pixilated retro games, one night I found him sneaking into the game room and playing axiom with my account. He's too proud to admit he likes gaming but reluctant to create his own account, so I created a new one for him and log into that account after I finished my session, glad me and dad share the same passion for metroidvania games :)

Metroidvania is my favorite genre but I dont like Steamworld Dig 2. I got sick of standing still to figure out how to mine to treasure, having to always go back to trade treasure cause of a tiny inventory and having to always go back up to light the lamp
