What is an Operator? Kubernetes & OpenShift Operators Explained.

preview_player
Показать описание
In this video I explain what Operators are in Kubernetes and OpenShift. I cover the different components of the Operator Pattern and how they work together to make up an Operator. I show how each component contributes to the overall pattern and ultimately delivers value in excess of what Kubernetes native resources can provide.

I have watched many videos on Operators, you did the best by far. Easiest to understand. I never comment/like videos, but I am compelled to for your video. Great work!!

This was a fantastic overview - I wish I'd seen this months ago. Are you going to make an OLM video? All I can find online are long-form tutorials; nobody's doing visualizations like yours.

When i go to operator framework website, it says i can build operator using Go, Helm, and ansible. Does that eman i cannot use other languages like java?
If yes, why isn't it listed with the above? This really confuses me and i feel like i am really missing something with my understanding

17:52 Why did you say "exception" here i didn't understand! did you mean for other openshift versions other than 4, all cluster and non cluster are managed by OLM?
18:06 Why did you show this screen? Where is OLM here?
