While no one can dispute that the economy continues to recover and add jobs, a number of the assertions President Trump made about the economy on Friday were false or exaggerated, says Steve Rattner, who returns to Morning Joe with his charts on the economy.

What bothers me most is the number of people I know who believe whatever comes out of Trump's mouth. Just because you *say* it's tremendous does not mean it's tremendous.

Trump has no intention of shutting down the government.
We have a man in the White House who would like nothing better right now than to steer the conversation away from Michael Cohen and his accountant. Trump is like the boy who cried wolf. Another threat made in an attempt to switch the subject.

Real wages are actually down. If consumption increases without wages increasing, that is not a good sign. Hello ballooning private debt.

Yeah but show trumps growth next to inflation. It would show how little it is helping the middle class.

The question is, wouldn't the economy be the same if Hillary, or any other candidate had won, I mean he took office a year and half ago the ball was already rolling.

The orange baby can’t wait for one good news to brag about it. If 4.1 is amazing then how is 5.4 by Obama?

Mika, Joe.. Please please don't call 'it' President. Call 'it' Donald, or Trump.. it just gives me the creeps every time I hear it...

Mark Burnett sold this guy as a "successful" businessman. HIS business records show that he was anything but successful in real life. Filing bankruptcy 6 times. Having daddy bail him out more than that. Failing at selling steaks, vodka, magazines, etc. etc. proves he doesn't know anything about anything. Bankrupting the country will prove once and for all that he's a failure. That's apparently what his friends and fans want.

If the economy is doing so great why are wages going down?

Let's be a little more precise in our language. More jobs per month were created in the last 18 months of president Obama's term than were created during Mr. Trump's first 16 months. Giving presidents credit for creating jobs is a stretch. The policies may encourage or discourage growth, but the president isn't hiring anyone.

The day Trumpy leaves office should be declared a "National Holiday" (with pay of course)
