In molar pregnancy sperm fertilizes non viable egg.In this the fetal tissue does not grow.Only placental tissue grows. Causes are not known.If a girl become pregnant before 20 it may happen.If lady is more than 35 or 40 ,it can happen. Second is deficiency of beta carotene,folic acid and vitamin B12in diet.Chances of molar pregnancy in subsequent pregnancies are very high.To detect molar pregnancy Beta HCG Test and scanning is required.
