I bought a new house and it had a Lutron lights installed and I've look on YouTube for information and this had been the best video online when it comes to research and trying to understand Lutron and their products as a beginner. Thank you

Thank you for this! It was super daunting to do this on my own with no electrical background and given the shortage of electricians in my area this video was absolutely spot on! 👏 I managed to do about 30 switches in my home on my first attempt with no issues! Thank you again and looking forward to more HomeKit content!

Great video! I recently decided to go with Lutron Caseta switches also. I really appreciate the reliability of them. They can however get pricey when doing a whole house. I just released a video showing how to mix and match Lutron smart and "dumb" switches as an affordable way to get started. I'll definitely be adding more in my house.

I have a single pole installation on my counter top. We are getting new stone countertops which require me to move the switch to another location. This location is not optimal for everyday use. It only controls one pendant light over the counter. I would like to know which Lutron product to buy. I plan on moving the switch to the new location and never flipping a switch again. I want to use the Pico remote to turn the switch on and off. Do I just need the single pole switch and the Pico? Please help

What do you do with 5 colors of wires coming out of the lutron switch?

Here in Brazil, we have the modified Sonof min for HomeKit, which work perfectly well, both in normal and 3-way switches.

Hi, i am using Smartthings v3 hub, can i set an automation to turn on a group of light through lutron dimable switch in particular brightness and specific time when a motion sensor detected a movement?

or if it doesn't work on smartthings, can you do it on lutron app?

thanks in advance for the answer

I’m interested in these light switches but i’m not sure exactly what’s the benefit of them? i use regular non smart LED light bulbs that are soft white 2700k led, what can they benefit and do?

Twist those wires together before using the wire nut.

A wire nut is not meant to be what holds the two wires together. It is only meant to keep the electricity where it wont trip a breaker or cause a fire.

Removing the tabs on the switch doesn’t reduce your voltage...
it reduces the wattage the switch is rated for

The 4 black wires, it doesn't matter which one goes to which? any of the black from wall can go to any of the black in the dimmer?

Did he bust out a label maker for a dimmer install?

Too much going on and not enough circuit information to explain why connections are made/not made.

This could have been a great video, Burt the only time you sped it up was when making the actual connections which was why we are watching this video.

Hi Eric. Dumb question but I have a new ceiling fan with a light that recently changed. There's only a single pole switch. Can I use this so I can turn the fan and light on/off separately?

Great video, but you didn't address how to install the Caseta Wireless Switch (which you showed multiple times in your video)... not the dimmer. The dimmer has only two black wires (aside from ground) on the backside. The Switch has 4 wires + ground. Could you respond how to wire those for a 1-way and 3-way switch?? Appreciate your help.

Good video but you should probably explain the install a little better and the app too. Good job though.

Eric -- thanks for all these videos. You were great and quick about answering questions. Here are few more as I am about to install some switches. 1. All of our switches have three wires (copper / ground, black, and red). The three-way switches have four wires -- with additional white. Is the white neutral or traveler? Where does that fourth wire (white) go on the Lutron caseta switch? Does it matter which of the two three-way I connect the switch to and which gets the Pico remote (or closed off)? Can we close off the secondary switch by just capping the wires and closing the outlet with a face plate? Do we need the Lutron hub / bridge to use with HomeKit? Does the Pico remote work with the non-dimmer Lutron caseta smart switch (we don't need dimming on everything) or do you recommend installing dimmer switches anyhow? Sorry for so many questions but I appreciate your time and expertise. Thanks!
