Adding a Fog Machine to the Light Show!!! | Rockville R1200L Fog Machine

In today's video, I unbox and set up the Rockville R1200L fog machine for this year's Halloween light show. I also go over how I program and set it up in Xlights, as well as how I keep it safe outside with the weather. It was a last-minute idea to add something cool like this to the show, and so far it's awesome! Feel free to use the timestamps below to skip to the part of the video you want to see

I know I didn't for certain say whether I like this fog machine or recommend it, so here's my opinion on it: I think it's an amazing low-budget fog machine and can output a ton of fog for only $130. The Rockville customer service is also great and helped me get a new fog machine when the other one was acting weird. The heat up time for it is also really fast. Overall I think it's an amazing fog machine and highly recommend it, but I can't say how long lasting it is since I've only had it for a few weeks.

You could use that strobe function and white light for a lightning effect. Make sure to properly clean that machine after the season or this may be the only one you will have it functional for. Spirit Halloween usually carries it but it is getting late in the season and they may be out. You can also use citric acid and distilled water which is basically the same thing and run it thru until there is no more fog and only steam. Then run it empty until it ether stops steaming or you hear a change in the pump sound indicating that the fluid path is clear. Leaving fog juice in the fogger can and in many cases plugs up the system to the point that the pump can't clear it or the pump itself may stop working. You may want to look into building a fog chiller next year which will keep most of the fog on the ground which looks really cool.

Great informative video. Now I want to get a fog machine for my display! I’ve had problems in the past with people vandalizing my display. Mostly kicking my light strings that outline my yard. I use motion sensors with an outdoor siren by YoLink to scare them off now.

I followed the steps in this and your other dmx tutorial and it still doesn’t seem to work. Is there a specific mode the fog machine has to be set to to accept dmx?
