So, I am now looking at Hero 7 Black or the new DJI Osmo Action. Having the 3+ I am suddenly not sure if it's worth it as I film in daylight and 24fps. I know this is Hero 5 vs 3 and 3+ but still..

Watch the video in 1080 and see the difference. If I had a choice to buy a Gopro 3 used for $100 or a Black new, I will go with the newer version since the 3 is becoming obsolete. It was a great model but if you are serious about what you do with a GoPro, first impressions are everything and sub video isnt the way to go.

Maybe my eyes are a litle bit tired, but except from the slomo feature, to me the normal HERO 3 black (not the +) is the winner in most shots. just look at the 300% of the ferris wheel...it seems a lot clearer than the other two.

Love to know what post processing you do on these, and what export settings you use ready for YouTube. I use a Go Pro Hero 3+ Black and I never seem to be able to export it from premiere quite right for YouTube.

Not much picture quality difference from 3+ black to 5 black, maybe a very slight clarity difference, not enough to want to go out and buy another $400 action cam. I'll stick with what a got, thanks.

Looks to me like my hero 3black is the better idea for lowlight and the 5 is better for day..

The low light / night is what i see a great improvement on +like the LCD +waterproof case native on the 5 black. Think it will be worth it for me (fathers day and birthday will reduce me cost :) ... thanks for the video!

The key difference with the hero 5 is THERE IS A DIGITAL DISPLAY ON THE BACK OF IT!

Oh and double the fps at 1080p recording
