I have no shame to say that I used a code to force the drops during my PSP playtrought back then. That and 100% crafting were amazing time savers, thankfully the second one is no longer an issue in Reborn

Clarification on Elemental Resistances:

Elemental Resistances on armor in Reborn (unlike LUCT) only activate in these two scenarios:

1) When the element of an attack is Strong against the defender's Affinity, the elemental resistance on the defender's armor that activates will be of the element that is Strong against the element of the attack (e.g. Earth Element attack vs Lightning Affinity defender, only the AIR resistance on the defender's armor will activate to reduce damage).

If the attack is a Basic Melee/Ranged Attack or a Spell (in this scenario), any points of elemental resistance that exceed the elemental damage bonus on the attacker's weapon will not contribute to damage reduction. If the attack is a Spell, the relevant elemental resistance on the defender's armor will only activate if the attacker is benefiting from their main-hand weapon's elemental damage bonus. This requires the attacker to be wielding a 1-handed weapon (with an elemental damage bonus) along with an accompanying offhand weapon or shield.

2) When the element of an attack is Weak to the defender's Affinity, the elemental resistance on the defender's armor that activates will be of the element that Matches the defender's Affinity (e.g. Lightning Element attack vs Earth Affinity defender, only the EARTH resistance on the defender's armor will activate to reduce damage).

Regarding Weapon Skills and their rank bonus to Spell damage:

The weapon matching the Weapon Skill does not need to be equipped for the Weapon Skill's rank bonus to be applied to Spell damage. If multiple Weapon Skills are equipped, only the left-most equipped Weapon Skill's rank bonus will be applied to Spell damage.

Having access to Cudgel Finishers does have one niche use for casters though. The Rank 30 Cudgel Finisher (Pressure Whirl) is an AOE Finisher with the chance to inflict the Enfeeble debuff, which significantly increases magical damage dealt to its victim. Finisher debuff/status infliction chances scale with INT and MND (vs the target's MND and AVD), so casters will usually have a very high chance of inflicting Pressure Whirl's Enfeeble debuff on potentially multiple targets.

Great guide on the apocryphas and **especially** the Nature's Touch skill for Shamans. I still didn't understand much what it was for but boy am I setting it up on all of them now. 👀

This is a good guide, but a few little addendums, if it's okay =]

-Iuria's innate flight is nice for songstress, but her high caster stats are a little wasted here as there's another special character who can be a songstress (Punkinstopheles) or any generic pumpkinhead works, too. So you're not locked out of songstress if you go shaman on Iuria or anything.

-Shamans can use instills. While we think of "instill earth" as giving that 25% bonus damage from physical attacks as earth damage, instills also boost your defenses against that element. Think of how on a fire valkyrie, you're using instill water to protect them against water damage, right? You can put instill air on Sherri so she doesn't die so often to air element stuff. This is good in places like Palace of the Dead where an enemy team is often 75% the same element.

-Alternatively, you can use the resonance this way, too, for the same net effect if you're not using engulf. I think the question is really... do you care more about keeping Sherri alive (air resonance) or do you care more about killing an enemy who managed to get in melee range of Sherri to hit her by increasing her damage against them when her turn starts (earth averse)?

-I think the most common spell loadout for shamans is really Summon 2, Summon 1, Apocrypha 2, and Starfall 2 (or 1 if you don't have 2). Starfall has a long range and exorcises undead. Summon 1 is about the same cost as that missile spell you showed while doing more damage.

-Can't shaman use hammer finishers, too, with a Caldia in the offhand? The cudgel finishers always felt a bit lackluster to me. Especially for Deneb, though, with her massive mind stat, caldia's free charm has a >50% chance to hit.

-Don't forget that apocrypha damage is based on height. So dark/earth/ice are going to do bonus damage to units at 1 elevation while air/holy/fire are going to do bonus damage to units with a higher elevation. I mean, that's not always super useful information, but if Ice Shaman Iuria is choosing between four units up high or four on the ground, she'll do bonus damage to the low ones.

-Annoyingly (but in keeping with how it works in the other games), Earthquake does not hit floating units. Different from how it works in the rest of the series, though, it will hit flying units on the ground.

In the original version in PS1, there are only 4 elements. Fire, Water(water and ice together), Wind(Wind and lighting together) and Earth.

the 4 shrines each contains spells hit the entire map(friend and foe will not be spared) except the caster. True to the story that the late king use it as a loser tactic to win the war..
only the mages survived in the battle field.

however in Hell Gate aka Palace of the dead, the Dragon magic also hit the map, except allies and caster, making it even better than these "4 Forbidden Power" stated by Moruba, the father of the 4 sisters.

Princess and Wicce can use all aphocrypha spell without changing class at all. So 4 shamans from 4 sisters is enough for 6 type of spell.

Man I am confused as for some reason I cant open them up at all. I know I have the unlock as I have Olivia and did the air temple already but when I go to the fortresses they are still lock when I am in coda

I screwed myself by autobattling. I don't know WHEN it happened exactly, but I'm short a Myrdan and a Wicce Deneb!

@TitaniumLegman Heya Tom, I have another question about revisiting all of 6 ancient temples. These "guardians" rare items drops besides the apocrypha level 2, is it really worth to grind? I mean is it really extremely powerful items? Because the chances really damn low 😂 Thanks mate.

i dont think wicce's can match the dmg of the shamans as you stated. they don't have summons. magic time isn't strong enough. and shamans can use spiritstone of the stars anyway. what do you think of instills to cover elemental weaknesses?

Cerya and Cistina come as warrior type, if I am to build them as shaman, do I level them up as mages ?
