ΑΡΧΑΙΑ ΠΕΡΓΑΜΟΣ ΑΣΚΛΗΠΙΕΙΟ - THE ASCLEPIEION OF PERGAMON

Το Ασκληπιείο της Περγάμου χτίστηκε το 4ο αι π.Χ. και ήταν αφιερωμένο στον "θεό" της Ιατρικής, Ασκληπιό. Τα Ασκληπιεία ήταν λατρευτικοί ναοί και μαζί θεραπευτικά κέντρα της αρχαίας Ελλάδας. Στην Αρχαιότητα υπήρχαν πάνω από 380 Ασκληπιεία με αυτό της Περγάμου να είναι ένα από τα σημαντικότερα.
The Asklepion of Pergamon was built in 4th century B.C. and it was dedicated to the god of medicine Asclepius. The Asclepieia were sacred relegious places and therapeutic centers of ancient Greece. There were more than 380 Asclepieia in ancient times, Pergamon Asclepieion was one of the most important of them.
