In the state of Maine, 25% of all residents were members of the Ku Klux Klan and the French who lived there were not allowed to speak French and they were often physically assaulted and their home often vandalized and they had access only to the worst jobs. A large population of French Canadians immigrated to Maine from New-Brunswick and they had to change their first and last names to be accepted by the white English. Not to mention that many French-Canadian women have been sterilized without their consent in hospitals in Maine for any kind of surgery, and it was the same for African women and Native American women.

God teaches us to love one another with all of our hearts and to treat each other with respect and love. He preaches against violence. He preaches peace and kindness and teaches us to show compassion for others.

The Klan has literally violated all of the above.
