In this video we discuss what material is best for an essential oil burner as well as the pros and cons of the most popular materials. Ceramic, brass or glass, which one is best?

METAL

Metal is easy to clean, hardwearing and distributes heat evenly. It gets hotter than other materials and is corrosive which means it won't always be the best looking. It will need cleaning regularly with brasso or a similar metal cleaning product. Metals like brass are strong and so in terms of longevity metal is the winner.

GLASS

Glass is pretty to look at but has far too many cons, it doesn't distribute heat evenly which means you won't get the full potential from your essential oil and on top of that glass is easy to smash.

CERAMIC

The best material for an oil burner has got to be ceramic simply because it is easy to use, easy to clean, and it can be glazed in so many different colours and designs. Also ceramic is stronger than glass which instantly makes it superior. In terms of design and usage ceramic is the winner.

I love soapstone but I don’t know if it’s good to use it as oil burner since the soapstone is kinda heat resistant so the scent will be more subtle than a ceramic made

Quick tip on using ceramic oil burner... try not go for cheap one spend the money on a good one. They tend to burn more easily and can fire hazard at times. I'm using oil burners for over 10 years & found spending the money on a good one is much safer & get longer use.
