The traditional people of Okinawa, Japan often followed the rule of eating until you are 80% full. Below are a few triggers and causes that may be preventing you from reaching this satiated feeling without overeating.

Common triggers for overeating, include:

- Lack of sleep

- Excess amount of proteins

Common causes for overeating include:

- Bile deficiency (poor stomach acid)
- Low fat diets
- Junk foods
- Boredom
