There's no need to panic... but I think we will need to super patient. And as STE Show commented below - with the rumoured price increases, at least Sony is giving us all more time to save up!

Two things that no cell / mobile phone has ever had - and I wish they did. 1: A screen that switched between self emissive ( in dark surroundings ) and reflective ( so you can see the screen in bright sunlight ) 2: Solar trickle charging using the back of the phone or a cover. These to me are far more important than multiple cameras. ( I have a 4K camcorder with pro mics. for that, with a slow 32X zoom - but it won't make phone calls, or slip in my pocket ! ) Sony, Samsung, Apple etc - are you listening ?

I live in Shanghai, already got hands on the 1iii. Very impressive. But it’s very pricy, ¥8499 for 256GB, that’s about 1330 USD!!!

I expected the battery news but with the H.S technology, we can worry less about battery or heating while gaming for a long period of time in 4K at 120Hz.

Thank you for keeping us updated as usual Tom. I'm becoming more and more convinced now that, unfortunately for us, Sony doesn't have the intention to seriously compete in the mobile manufacturing business. At least on the mainstream medium. They might be avoiding competing with their consumers, which in this case "other mobile brands", who buy Sony's camera lenses and sensors. Maybe, just maybe, as their mobile division was taking heavy losses, another division was prospering like never before, so they decided to go with the other side. Anyway, hate it, bear with it, or understand it, Sony has made its decision clear that they won't be changing their marketing approach for now. So, if you are in the market for mainstream "non-pro" Sony mobiles, you have to be incredibly patient.

Great video man. I'm planning on grabbing this phone and at this point... I don't think the battery could be any worse than my Xperia 1 mark I. I always have chargers laying around so it's not a huge worry for me 🙂
