This is the equivalent to memorizing the boss's pattern in a video game

I once accidentally won a mechanical bull riding contest. I was late to the party and everyone else had already had a go. I had to walk past the bull to get to the bathroom, and the guy running it said “have a try?” And I was like sure why not. Rode the thing until I felt like getting off, and didn’t really notice the people watching cuz I was hyper-focused on riding. Turned out, I stayed on more than twice as long as anyone else!

So, I think there’s a bit of psychology involved. Because when I didn’t know how difficult it was supposed to be, it was very casual. In retrospect, I could have done it longer but I just got tired and decided to stop. I didn’t know it was a competition or that I was being timed.

PBR has a formula:

For Employees: the bull rotates very slow and a limited and same bucking motion so people will watch.

For good-looking patrons: you'll get a solid 30 seconds to show your goods before they kick it into high gear.

For ugly people: They kick ot into high gear immediately! 😂

ALL PBRs opporate this and it's hilarious.

Her tactic was pretty smart, going with the force is a lot more effective than staying put and fighting it.

Edit: the amount of people discrediting this girl is wild. I do NOT care if she works there or that's the trick to it dawg 😭 she still talented and smart, tell me that you could do the same exact thing with no problem, if you think you can its either ur toxic trait or you a bull rider. Like calm down, chill y'all, stop discrediting her just because its her job or something I still love the show and she's still great at what she does. 🙏🥺

It helps when the operator has a routine with you

The operator was kind to her. She works there, to encourage people to participate.

That's cool she found way too actually work with the direction the bull is moving in instead of remaining stiff and causing alot of strain

She was signaling the bull operator every time, upon rewatch.
Using ✨jazz hands✨
She still had cool skills, but she was 100% in communication & control with the bull operator the whole time.

It’s a clever signal. It just looks like a flare for fanciness or even in accident sometimes
But watch her hands closely before each change of the bull’s pattern— she did ✨jazz hands/sparkle hands✨

And the operator patiently waited for her to change positions each time. And he moved the bull slower & more predictably than he would for patrons.

Still a cool act. She does it smoothly.

When i was a kid (like 7) there was these mechanical bull thingies on one of our vacations and they had like a hard mode version where there was a prize (dont remember the prize anymore lmao) after watching a 30 year old man get thrown i was i decided i wanted to try. They tried to talk me out of it... i refused. I got on the bull was made out of some kind of rubber plastic thing and i was wearing shorts so i was litterally glued to that thing no matter how fast it went. 😂 one of few great memories from my early childhood.
