I love how they used the synchronization to introduce the player to the full potential of the gamer. In AC 1 and 2 you'd often miss awesome gameplay by just being lazy, or even not knowing..

I completed the whole game ages ago but after seeing you get bonus missions for the virtual training thing i think im gonna try it out.

I have 100% sync. As you progress, yes the Cristina missions do unlock and yes you must do them to get 100%. The main rewards in the game come from things that are not directly related to the story. Side mssions for example, Leonardo's machines, flags, Rome renovations, Guild challenges, Bronze or better on every Virtual Training program. Things like that except the Virtual Trainig (I think) contribute towards 100% sync, and are the best ways to unlock rewards.

@14Schofield you have to destroy all of the Leonardo Machines then you have to buy it from the tailor then when you jump off a building press the attack button "X for Xbox 360 or square for Ps3"

@1baglieto yea there will be. Ubisoft said that the save the numbers in the title i.e. Assassins creed 2, for when the game is based on a new assassin. This one is called brotherhood because it is still based on Ezio, so AC 3 will be an entirely different

@krizkk The Multiplayer rewards system and Single Player rewards system is a totally different thing altogether. On multiplayer you'll unlock Abilities, Perks, Kill Streaks, Loss Streaks and Characters (Personas) and use all of that to kick arse online ;-). When i say rewards, I'm referring to all the things you unlock in Single Player on your way to trying to achieve 100% sync. Nothing you do in Single Player rewards you with anything online. 100% sync is literally for bragging rights.
