The beauty will save the world: Leigh Boyle at TEDxSFU

Leigh is self-professed equal parts optimist, realist, dreamer, doer. She has also been on an incredible journey -- while working with an NGO in Ethiopia, she saw the profound impact of providing aesthetic services to hospice patients.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. Completamente de acuerdo con la expositora. Y aunque la belleza se percibe y entiende de muy distintas maneras en el mundo, en todas partes existe (sea cual sea el nombre que se le de) la percepción de belleza. Y ésta, sin duda, no solamente nos ayuda a vivir sino que, al menos por unos instantes, nos hace mejores.

Truly beautiful! Something as simple as touch can transform relationships. It's been a recent discovery for me and it makes me feel more connected to others. Touch is as important as every last action we perform to change other's life, be it a fellow human being or an animal. :)
