Iran and Israel need each other - here's why | Defence in Depth

Israel bombed an Iranian consulate. Iran retaliated with hundreds of missiles and drones against Israel, but didn’t kill anyone; then Israel struck back with a bombing raid just small enough for the Iranians to pretend it had not happened.

The world held its breath as the middle east’s military superpowers headed towards a conflagration that would have ignited the entire region, and quite possibly triggered world war three. Then, just as suddenly, it was all over.

What on earth was Tehran thinking?

In this episode of Defence in Depth, Roland Oliphant, senior foreign correspondent, asks the question: would a war with Israel rally Iranians to the flag - or would it be the last straw that would see them finally overthrow the regime?

I think its important to explain how physically far apart the two countries are.
Any direct confrontation would involve rockets and airplanes. Large scale tank battles or infantry clashes are simply impossoblr for both countries.

People needs to remember that both countries are far apart of one another. So any direct land invasions would certainly be out of the question.

Most importantly, the military industrial complex needs both of them to remain forever at odds.

Iran itself may not be attacking Israel, but its proxies are.

It was an awesome video, a correction is needed here:

The nationalists who said "why isn't the leader responding the the bombing of the consulate" weren't actually demanding a response, but making fun of the weakness of IRGC's power against foreign armies (and that they only have enough strenght to beat us the people for hijab)

As an Iranian who opposes the regime, let me answer that question: 9:10

The borders of Iran hold immense significance for the majority of people. Personally, I feel a surge of intense emotion whenever I hear of possible conflicts erupting on our soil or discover attempts to incite tensions among minorities by Israel. Instead of engaging Iran directly or supporting the division of Iran, the West should focus on diplomacy and addressing issues outside of borders. It's crucial to understand that the people of Iran have a deep love for their homeland and are willing to defend every inch of it with their lives.

The fact that we live in a world where an American president can warn a Near East country not to strike an ally and it still struck is truly a remarkable turn of events
