This museum presents original Catalan art but is also known for its extensive collection of Romanesque paintings. It's set in the Palau Nacional of Montjuïc, a Spanish Renaissance building designed for the 1929 International Exhibition. On the ground floor, you can admire the collections of Romanesque, Gothic and Renaissance art. The most notable artists displayed here include Tiziano, El Greco, Velázquez or Rubens. The first floor displays Modern and Baroque art, including artworks by Casas, Gaudí, Picasso, Gargallo, and Joan Miró. Please note that you must leave suitcases or big items of luggage in the cloakroom. After your visit to the museum, you can also enjoy the evening fountain show at the foot of the Palau Nacional.
