To me, most lightweight Windows editions miss the point by confusing a small footprint with being light. Sure, sometimes it is nice to have a small footprint, but that is just stripping away software, potentially removing useful features. Unless it actually significantly reduced the number of running processes and the memory in use, it is not a lightweight Windows. But today disk is cheap, so normally that is not what I mainly want, except removing third-party software that is only included to try to get me to buy something more. So I have no problem with keeping most of the software but shutting down any feature that is not necessary to run Windows safely, like anything related to telemetry. Most of this can be done by simply shutting down services, but some might be so intrinsic that the entire feature must be removed for it to go away and not use resources.

The result should be a Windows that runs fewer processes, uses less memory and less CPU and therefore starts faster and are generally snappier, especially on older hardware.

Because of this, I was quite disappointed when the video ended without showing the absolutely most important information: How much memory is used and how many processes are running, and how that transformed into performance. Nothing .of that was mentioned.

From my testing B2 iso have some fixes and allows for update without problems. B1 on the other hand have errors on some windows updates. Unless you planned to just test the OS, its probably a good idea to run B2 so you can continue to use windows updates to keep windows up to date and also for older machinies if you need to update drivers

weridly on more recent version of tiny where I use the tool to make my own iso I noticed ram usage tick up slighty after windows update. Most likely windows fixes some of the background services that were removed

increased space usage after update? Well thats because even when you stripped the installer, when ran update, M$ will just reinstall those "components" which was removed and try to rebuild... just my 2 cents :)

I was able to automatically update my little sibling's mini PC and my main rig so idk if that was a recent change or what but that was just a week ago when I did theirs
