Riding the Ozark National Forest

Four fellow riders and myself met up in Ozark, Arkansas for a two day ride in the Ozark National Forest. I plotted most of the roads from just looking at google maps so we didn't know what to expect. We weren't disappointed, the roads were much more technical than we thought and had better views than we expected. We had a DR650, 2 KLR650's, a DRZ400, and a KLX250 for bikes. Even though I was having some carburetor issues it was a great trip and I can't wait to return.

I just watched this one again, forgetting I'd seen it two years ago (as PeterVred). Once of the great things about getting old!

As said before, great video quality, and super fun looking terrain, if a bit sketchy for me. Steezy, are you on a DRz? Seems like everyone is going that way, and I'm thinking about that one or a (lower) DR650 myself. Something MUCH lighter than the Africa Twin (which I will soon relegate to only pavement and light off-roading). I would also like something a little punchier than my CRF300L, though it is certainly still a ton of fun.

At 5'11" and 155#, what would be anyone's suggestions for a bit larger Dual Sport. AI rode a KLR recently, too heavy to pick up without a winch (like the AT). How does the DRZ compare to the DR, weight and height wise in the real world? I know the specs but am curious about other's experiences. All responses are helpful.

Getting to come and take a ride with you guys on a milder ride is still on my bucket list! A Harley riding buddy and I are taking a day trip to Marceline, MO soon, if we're close to you Steezy, I'd like to stop by.

Great video! Is there maps I can get for the GPS for that area? That looks like fun! I’m only about 4 hours from the Ozarks.

Hey man, going to be traveling through Ozarks with my Te610 doing some “social distancing” as I move across country. Any chance you are riding in these next few days or have the route you did on here in a gps file?
