Drive-In Movie Theaters Booming Back to Life During Pandemic

The classic American experience of seeing movies at a drive-in theater is seeing a huge resurgence across the country. People who have been locked down in quarantine for months might be itching for an escape, but don’t want to risk being exposed to germs from others they encounter in public. Sharing an experience with a large group is a welcome change of pace for moviegoers, even if they have to remain locked in their cars. I’ve always really wanted to try the Drive In Theater experience. How is it like?

I said this about 6 months into the Pandemic. It's too bad they were so quick to close down Drive-in Theaters. Movie Theaters couldn't be used due to 30 people all the way to 200+ people all in close proximity of each other. Where as a Drive-in theater your in YOUR CAR, with a cooler, food, snacks, and everything you need right there. It was a perfect way to see a movie during this insane time. Add to that, Drive-in movies were so much fun back in the day. I remember the family loading up the station wagon, heading out to the 41-Twin theater. Then as I grew older, in high school going with friends. Guys sneaking in the trunk, just goofy hijinks. 🤪 It was a memorable time and experience. I know living in the past is "taboo", and while I understand that if your always looking back, you can't see what's in front of or what's ahead of you, it's still fun to enjoy your past, relish memories, and relive past memories.

I was at that drive-in theater in December 2020 it was really fun, sad that it closed down last year.
