Awesome Dani, very explanatory. This definitely fills the void, having a step-by-step tutorial on how to set up Wwise with Unity, and to perform basic functions in Unity to allow it to speak to Wwise middleware. Thanks for taking the initiative to give game audio enthusiasts the steps to start working with Wwise in engine for Unity Pro!

Great tutorial :) Got a question about the last bit. Please could you help me understand the possibilities of parenting an object to the player for triggering sounds? I see that, if the character was walking down an alley, you could make it so the little parented box triggers sounds 'ahead of time'. What else? Thanks for your time.

Thank you for this tutorial!
However, I got it partially working. I can hear my sound effect but even when it's set to triggerEnter, I start hearing the sound immediately as the level starts (The sound effect starts playing before collision). I did everything exactly how it was done in this tutorial.

+Rorshock520 Thank you I happy you found this useful, as for the MIDI question. I am not sure, I will look into it in my free time, If I find anything relevant I will definitely share it with you.

Hi Dani, thanks for answering my last question, I've got one more for you! I was wondering if you can help me implement footsteps from Wwise into Unity. I've got a deadline approaching. I've followed wwise tutorials, and found a useful video showing exactly what I'm trying to do but missing some details i think.

I have followed the official Wwise tutorials from scratch on how to make random containers, nested inside switch containers etc. In Wwise all of the concrete and dirt and gravel footsteps play as they should. So now I've moved on to the integration with Unity. I've followed all the steps and have a functioning wwise integration that I have tested successfully with simple event calls. The trouble I'm having is in getting the FPC to play the various switch containers. I've set up a box colider and have added an ak switch with the appropriate footstep material selected, and ticked 'use other object' below 'AkTriggerEnter'. I've edited the FPC script by deleting the section about unity triggering footsteps, and have replaced it with this line of code: AkSoundEngine.PostEvent("Footstep", gameObject); When I build the code I get an error: 'The name 'Ak SoundEngine' does not exist in the current context. Is there something I've missed? What would you adivise me to look at to get it working?

Thanks very much for your time.

Patrick

Super helpful!  Thank you :)
Do you by chance know how to use Unity scripts to call MIDI notes, which trigger Wwise events?  Basically like a virtual instrument?
E.g.
if input X --> play midi note --> play designated wav file from Wwise.

Again thanks for the wonderful vid!  Really helped me get started.
