I had the same problem as many comments, golems spawning outside. Checked and I had built the hole for the villagers 6 deep, fixed it to 7 as the video instructs and works perfectly now, no need to place slabs. Great video!

For the iron farm, the iron golem was not spawning in my lava pit and was spawning in other places so i put slabs in the places the iron golem was spawning and it worked
Jus note it in case it was happening same to you …….

tip i learnt: with the chicken farm if you give the chickens more blocks there will be more chickens (crazy i know!) but make sure to place hoppers everywhere the chickens will be
