When in Melaka there are a number of things you have to tick off your MELAKA EATS list. Today we embark on a food hunting adventure and visit a few spots not far from Melaka town to find some Melaka famous food. Get ready for a huge Malaysia street food tour!

Restoran Ming Huat
This kopitiam houses a number of stalls and is a local favourite. One of our subscribers recommends it to us and suggests it’s a living embodiment of the concept of muhibbah, where people of different cultures, races and religions live and work side by side harmoniously, respectful of each other’s backgrounds. There is a Malay nasi lemak stall, an Indian Muslim stall and a Chinese stall in this kopitiam and it’s customers are from all different backgrounds. It really is the perfect example of muhibbah. We eat nasi lemak with a side of chicken rendang and sample mee kahwin a mash up of mamak rohak and mee rebus.

Aunty Koh Cendol
Aunty Koh’s cendol is some of the most famous in Melaka. Her stall is only open on Saturday and Sundays from 11:30am onwards. We arrive at 11:30am and by 12:00pm Aunty Koh has sold out!! What makes her cendol so special? The coconut milk. Aunty Koh grates and presses around 30 coconuts from around 1:00am the night before she opens. Fresh is an understatement!

Klebang Original Coconut Shake
Another must eat/drink in Melaka is the Klebang coconut shake. This iced concoction is made up of ice, coconut milk, coconut water and coconut flesh and is topped with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream. Delicious!

Kuih Keria Antarabangsa
Our final stop is Kuih Keria Antarabangsa. These sweet potato doughnuts are a crowd favourite and when they open at 1:00pm we guarantee there’ll already be a line of about 20 deep! Cooked sweet potato is mashed up with flour, deep fried and then covered in a gula melaka syrup. Mouth watering!

👍👍 You two picked up some great recommendations indeed. I'm repeating myself I know but this is one of my favorite videos of yours. Love the variety of delicious looking and interesting (to me) dishes and all the excellent commentary.

Looks like Thomas has been converted to a doughnut lover...I recall some mention of not really being in to them. I'm sure I'd prefer the kuih keria without the glaze but they looked quite tasty.

That cendol looks like the best one out of all that you've shown us. I like it when the cendol has a darker green colour n not as transparent (less slippery texture). Gonna try that when I go to melaka next time.

I would just like to say a big thank you for the videos. Especially stating the 'halal' places you have dined at. For a traveller like me halal food is always something i have to try research for ages. You guys are awesome in your videos and have made my upcoming trip to malaysia so less stressful by providing addresses and also clearly stating the halal stalls/restaurants. It is much appreciated! Keep up the great work! Hope you enjoy your travels! Many thanks.
