More than 100 people took part in a protest outside a Hong Kong secondary school on September 4, 2019, amid concerns that students taking part in an anti-government class boycott class could be punished.

The protesters vandalised facilities outside the Chinese Foundation Secondary School (CFFS) in northeastern Hong Kong Island, after claims posted online saying the school had warned it would expel students and dismiss staff who took part in protests against the government’s now-shelved extradition bill.

So basically they want to be able to do whatever they want without consequences. How juvenile.

Tbh isn't that a common stuff, intentionally boycotting school definitely earn you a warning no matter what, I don't get why these student make a huge fuss about it.

I agree with the decision of the principal, we dont want these kind of students inside the school, not only it will tarnish school's reputation, they might affect other students development in a negative way, which is a concern for the Hongkong education perspective

Students should not cut classes. You are there to LEARN. Join the protests after school hours. Study harder and become lawyer, politician, or whatever, fight it in court or legislative.

if they decided to boycott being warned that they could be expelled then its entirely their fault

The only thing the students are learning is violence and vandalism...imagine what will happen when they grow up to be adults

Hongkong's Education system is its core problem

Go to Hongkong and they will fly the british flag because since young...they were taught about the British...

Go to other countries and they will fly theit own flag...because of patriotism...

The education system is thoroughly rotten. Do they even know of the colonial history of HK?

What did they expect, Dear student schools have laws and systems to maintain order and discipline . When you choose the stay away on protest on some matter that does not concern the school you attend . you will receive what ever the school have to give you

The sickness and disease of rebelliousness has spread to school students.

So they vandalised the school because they heard "online rumours"... What?

Students lacking self-regulation and social thinking skills are more prone to taking aggressive and non-rational actions. They are more easily influenced by manipulators. This is indeed worrying.

If you (the students) have so much money and time to protest, give the opportunity to other students who want to study but do not have the time or money to do so.

Through the interviews, they are protesting for different views (one was the bill; the other were against the rumors). Not united... no common goal... nothing achieved.
