My one issue with the newest Rogers Centre renovations

The Toronto Blue Jays did an AMAZING job of transforming this dumpy stadium into a world-class baseball venue, but did they make it TOO nice? I walked all around the 100 Level in foul territory to see the newest renovations up close, and there was a lot on my mind. What do YOU think about the new-look Rogers Centre?

This was also a special day because the Jays wore their City Connect uniforms and used a commemorative baseball for the occasion during the game, so my number one goal was to snag one. Did I succeed? What do you think of Vladimir Guerrero Jr.'s pitching windup? How close did I get to Gunnar Henderson and the rest of the Baltimore Orioles? Which of the standing-room sections is your favorite? Why did I go to the upper deck AFTER the winning run scored?

Thanks for the immersive video attending an MLB game! It took me back to when I was a kid in the 1980s, shagging batting practice home runs in the right field seats of the Metrodome. I got my first ball autographed by the player who hit it - Toby Harrah of the Rangers.
After moving to the middle of nowhere in Montana, I haven't been to an MLB game since 1989, and all three MLB stadiums I attended games in have long since been demolished. I need to get back to an MLB game to see one in person again.

This is the kind of guy that you want to have a beer with. Dude follows the Orioles around and in the process makes a banger Skydome video....ooops I mean Rogers...highlighting the renos. Much respect from a Blue Jays fan from day one that was lucky enough to be at the game when Joe Carter hit the home run over the left field fence to win the World Series.

Awesome vid Z! Here’s my thoughts: I love the idea of that section, just not in the area it’s in. If you had that same concept in a different part of the stadium, it’d be so much easier! Easier to see the game without the netting, and easier for us ball hawks to snag balls!

I was at the home opener at Rogers Centre, and I’ve gotta vent. The new renovations look amazing, but they’ve made it nearly impossible for regular folks like me to get close to the action, especially behind home plate.

They’ve added all these premium seats right where the best views are, but now those spots are membership-only. Even if I could save up, I can’t just buy tickets for those seats anymore. It’s so frustrating because I used to be able to plan a few games each season where I could bring my kids and let them experience the thrill of being right near the players.

Now, unless you’re part of some exclusive club, those prime spots are off-limits. It feels like they’re prioritizing exclusivity over accessibility. Baseball outings should be fun and within reach for everyone, not just reserved for those with memberships. I really hope the Blue Jays reconsider this approach. The magic of the game is in sharing it with everyone, not making the best parts of it a luxury.
