Try Project Salvador, the Generative AI Plug-in for Autodesk Fusion

preview_player
Показать описание
Project Salvador (Beta) is an Autodesk Fusion plug-in that provides access to third-party Generative AI models through APIs. Use it for product design ideation, conceptual design variations, and sketch creation in Fusion.

This first version is based on OpenAI GPT-4 Turbo, DALL-E or Stable Diffusion models, and Vectorizer to support the following workflows:
📜 Text-to-image: Use your own keywords, or enhanced prompt suggested by GPT to generate a 2D image to inspire your product design
🖼️ Image-to-image: Use a screenshot of geometry on your Fusion canvas as an input to generate a design variation
🎨 Image-to-canvas: Generate an AI image that can be imported as a canvas into Fusion and be used for tracing or as a make-shift background
✍️ Text-to-Sketch: Use text to generate a 2D image that can be converted into a Fusion sketch

It doesn't really do anything though, does it. It's just a shortcut for going to the apps themselves and copying/pasting on the page.

Insinuating that you may get a «creative» outcome for inspiration is another way of saying it will look shitty.

- First, clearly some effort has been put into this add-in (i'm a programmer myself) - but alas, I do not find it to be a useful application of AI.

- These tasks would be better done in the respective apps. And, screen capture, plus image import are relatively easy w/o AI (so, no real gain there).
- As for the image-to-sketch feature, the conversion is too limited to be useful in anything but the most simple/ideal cases. 'Bitmap-to-vector' conversion is very source graphic dependent; there are special requirements for 3D CAD sketches; plus, there are many other considerings, and things to be done in order to get a good/useful result.

- Nice effort, but IMO (30+ years in 3D, former professional programmer in 3D, regular 3D CAD / F360 user/teacher), my objective/frank assessment is that this add-in is ill-conceived (i.e. a technology looking for an application, not vice versa). OUCH! I know - just being honest.

This is cool, I think use cases are limited to creative artistic design for now. I will be looking forward to how this projects evolve, real excited.

Also Apple VisionPro and Meta AR goggles excite me a lot, ability to put my design in front of me on the table as I am designing it, will be huge. A competitor to Fusion 360 has put out a demo. I think those who launch to Meta platforms will also be at an advantage as some of their goggles are also affordable unlike vision pro.

The fourth workflow seems very useful!

That "AI" have a intelligence of a middle aged pumpkin. I give up. It can generate nice pictures but thats it.

- This appears to be an official Adesk channel. Is it?
- If so, is this add-in an official project, being developed by some part of the official dev team?
- In another comment, I gave my constructive analysis/criticism. So that I might better understand things, perhaps you could share the intent/factors driving development of this add-in. The roadmap would also be nice for potential users to know (my analysis might be premature).
- TIA.
