Great job !! You have very clearly explained a very difficult concept in the Russian language. Even though you did not go into detail, your presentation gave a very good idea as to how the cases are constructed. By the way, thank-you, thank-you, thank you for the intermediate lesson !!! There are thousands of beginners lessons that exist in youtube for Russian. But lessons such as this, are very refreshing for us that are at a little higher level. Thanks for your time and effort.

I absolutely liked this lesson, this is the first time I truly understand cases and how they make russian russian. Thank you very much. I am teaching myself russian, I have reached about 500 words and a few dialogues and some russian songs.

I agree, this has really made the cases make more sense to me. Did Russian at school over 17 years ago and just recently been trying to pick it up again at evening classes, but was really struggling with making sense of what the cases actually mean. Showing the English equivalents in a sentence really made it click.

@PUTNAMEINTHISSPOT Usually Это for unspecified things (in general). For example, "It is good" = "Это хорошо". However, if you are talking about something already (neuter singular only), you should use Оно. For example: Я ел яблоко. Оно было вкусным = I ate an apple. It was delicious. I hope that helps.

@ZekeComa Sure, I'll do one as soon as I get the chance. But be prepared. In Russian word order is not as important as other languages. A lot of times (but not all), you can mix the words around and still have the same basic meaning.

you explained this so clearly thank you!

I like cased languages. German only has 4 (really 3) Nom, Dat, Gen (not really used anymore), and Acc. It's just going to take some more practice to get used to the prepositional and instrumental cases. Great videos :). Can you do one on sentence structure like word order, etc.?
