How to paint white poppies on white paper with watercolors.

When painting a white-on-white composition, it is important to pay attention to the shadows and tones. Take some time to observe the white and identify its shades, such as whether it is cold or warm.
White flowers are full of subtle shades; stamens, petal markings, and foliage are often reflected in them. Before I start painting, I look closely at the colors in the shadow areas and mix a shadow palette. To help guide your painting process, mix a separate shadow palette on paper and use it for reference. Remember to add additional layers of paint to produce an extra dimension of color.
