Well, that's the issue of the chicken and the egg... I saw the TV programme first and then read the books, so no pre-conceived ideals. Personally, I see Ciaran Hinds as Jimmy Langton and even Lynda La Plante states she now writes with Ciaran in mind. I understand your viewpoint, but the books and the TV screen writing differ from the original plot lines.It was ever thus....
